Women`s Care Clinic

PASE

(Post Abortion Support & Encouragement)

Many women suffer silently from the effects that a past abortion or abortions may have caused them. Studies have shown that many women experience

  • a fear of others finding out

  • anxiety

  • helplessness

  • regret

  • fear of failure

  • depression

  • guilt

  • marital stress

  • assorted addictive behaviors

  • psychological numbing, and more.

PASE is a program in which women who have had abortions may come in a safe, confidential environment, share their experiences, and move toward healing.

PASE is usually done in a small group setting, consisting of 3-6 women, including 2 trained facilitators, one of whom has experienced abortion herself. Although we have found that a small group setting is very productive, an individual may also take PASE with a facilitator on a one-on-one basis if necessary.

Meetings are held once a week and last 2 hours. The complete program runs approximately 9 weeks. Some of the topics discussed include: effects of abortion, anger, grief, forgiveness, mourning, and letting go.

Please call Women’s Care Clinic at (217) 431-0987 for a free and confidential consultation with a PASE facilitator, or to ask about the day and time of the next PASE.
